home sweet home

the last post (me in my wedding dress) gave you a peek inside of my apartment. this is my front porch and swing. it started to rainvery hard yesterday so i waited for a break in the rain and raced my bike homefrom the ashram as fast as i could and spent a few hours watching the thunder heads move across the mountain top while i sipped a cup of hot, sweet chai. it was truly amazing. as the storms started up again my little village simply became very still and quiet as the rain and wind danced and thrashed wildly.this trip has been very special and this swing has been on of my finest teachers. it has taught me to just remain still in whatever shelter is available and simply let the tempest spend it energy. latter that night we had a full scale monsoon style storm. there were intense rapid flashes of lighting with almost gale force winds. i had to jump out of bed to close the windows by my bed to keep from drowning. this was about three in the morning. i stayed up until four eating tiny, sweet mountain bananas and watching the show out side. my friends and i are going to a seatown called pondicherri Wednesday. the indians there speak tamil and french and they say the croissants rock. i will post some pics when i get back.
